System Requirements
Introduction
The purpose of the following system requirements is to communicate the minimum and recommended system requirements for the implementation of MPower.
Definitions:
- 1 Tier Deployment represents an installation for a One User organization. The Database Server, the Application Server, and the Client are all on one machine.
- 2 Tier Deployment represents an installation where the Database Server and Application Server are on one machine, with the Client being on a separate machine, or machines.
- 3 Tier Deployment represents an installation where the Database Server, the Application Server (Business Logic) and the Client are on three different machines. This deployment is chosen for optimal performance.
- RAS represents the Reports Application Server, which is a part of Crystal Reports 9 Advanced.
1 Tier Deployment
Recommended Requirements
Recommended Shared Client, Business Logic, Database & RAS Server Requirements:
- 2 Ghz Pentium III Compatible Processor or better
- Windows 2000 Server or better
- 2 GB Memory minimum
- 80 GB free space
- SQL Server 2005
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Shared Client, Business Logic & Database Server Requirements:
- 1 Ghz Pentium Compatible Processor or better
- Windows 2000 Server or better
- 1 GB Memory minimum
- 11 GB free space PLUS the storage required for documents, attachments, and other digital assets bound to the database
- SQL Server 2005
2 Tier Deployment
Recommended Requirements
Recommended Shared Business Logic, Database, & RAS Server Requirements:
- 2 Ghz Pentium III Compatible Processor or better
- Windows 2000 Server or better
- 2 GB Memory minimum
- 80 GB free space
- SQL Server 2005
Recommended Client Requirements:
- 2 Ghz Pentium III Compatible Processor or better
- Windows 2000 Professional, 2003 Professional, or Windows XP Professional
- 256MB Memory minimum
- 2 GB free space PLUS the storage required for documents, attachments, and other digital assets that need local management
For the best performance in Reporting, the RAS Server should be a separate server.
Recommended RAS Server Requirements:
- 2 Ghz Pentium III Compatible Processor or better
- Windows XP Professional
- 512MB Memory minimum
- 5 GB free space
