The Orange Convention 2008
The Orange Conference, a three-day conference in Frisco, Texas, will take place September 24-26, 2008. This will be MPower’s first conference since offering full-feature nonprofit open source constituent relationship management (CRM) software in March. The open source format allows MPower to make the software available to nonprofits for no licensing fees and full access to the source code. This will give MPower users the freedom to develop and customize their software to best fit the specific needs of their organization.
The 2008 theme for the conference is “Freedom to Fundraise” and will focus on assisting nonprofit organizations to learn more about using open source CRM software to organize and expand their donor and volunteer base. The speaker for the 2008 Orange Conference will be Keith Bright. Bright is one of the world’s leading supporters of open source technology and a leader of IBM’s efforts to increase innovation using Linux and open source software.
Over the three day time period, nearly 20 sessions will be held to discuss the newest open source strategies, the future of open source software, the importance of multi-channel marketing and communications, and share useful tips and creative ideas about how best to create and maintain long lasting relationships with constituents. Participants will be able to choose from different sessions, based on three topics: fundraising, technology, and operations. Nonprofits that have already utilize MPower open source CRM software will share their innovations which have been contributed to the user community for the benefit of all MPower users.
The Orange Conference 2008 is a chance for clients, partners, and other members of the nonprofit community to discover how to get the most out of MPower’s open CRM solution. It is also a chance to network and learn from fellow nonprofit organizations, as well as the MPower community of partners, developers, and other experts.
